Feliz navidad (:

FI Meen viettämään joulua mun perheen kanssa Mexico cityyn. Ei mitään aavistustakaan, mitä aiotaan siellä tehdä, mutta siitä voikin kertoa sitten myöhemmin. Mun uudessa perheessä on äiti (Lupita), isä (Roberto) ja 20-vuotias veli (Antar), joka käy yliopistoa. Tää on tosi mukava perhe, vaikka ensimmäisenä päivänä tuntuikin tosi oudolta olla eri perheessä. Isä on kotona vaan viikonloput, koska se käy töissä Tolucan lähellä. Äiti omistaa La Birra-nimisen ravintolan, jossa on italialaista, argentiinalaista ja meksikolaista ruokaa. Oon siellä yleensä joka arkipäivä noin klo 14-22. Harjottelen espanjaa (sain about viikko sitten espanjankirjat Juanilta, joka oli 4 vuotta sitten Suomessa vaihdossa. Puhuu muuten hyvää Tampereen murretta :3), kirjotan kirjeitä, ja en toki istu siellä aina vaan koko päivää, vaan meen capoeiraan ja nään kavereita. Postista sen verran. että meksikolaisia kummastuttaa suuresti, miksi haluan lähettää postikortteja/kirjeita, koska FB, e-mail ja Skype on keksitty.

Joulutunnelma - sitä ei ole. Joulukoristeita ja kuusia (aitoja, muovisia, pinkkejä, lumitettuja, laulavia..) löytyy kyllä koko Suomen maan edestä, mutta jotain kyllä puuttuu. Kukaan ei leivo mitään (piparit!!) ja joululauluja kuulee vain kaupoissa.

La posada - Jos kukaan on ikinä nähnyt Disneyn Samusirkan joulutervehdyksen, niin tietää suurin piirtein, mikä on posada. Liittyy siis siihen, kun Maria ja Joosef etsi yöpaikkaa Beetlehemissä, eikä missään talossa ollut tilaa niille, ainoastaan tallissa. Osa posada-vieraista menee talon ulkopuolelle Maria ja Joosef-patsaiden (tms) kanssa, ja laulaa 5 säkeistöä posada-laulua, ja jokaisen säkeistön välissä talon sisällä olevat ihmiset laulaa takaisin. Sen jälkeen vieraat pääsee takaisin sisälle taloon, ja syödää mm. tamalesia ja juodaan ponchea. Ja tietysti rikotaan piñatoja !!! (: Oon ollut kahdessa posadassa: eilen capoeira-ryhmän kanssa ja 1.12. Rotary-klubin kanssa, kun vaihdettiin perheitä.

EN I will spend my Christmas in Mexico City. I have no idea what are we going to do there but I can tell about it later. Family members in my new family are mom (Lupita), dad (Roberto) and 20-years-old brother (Antar) who goes to university. This family is really nice, though the first day it felt really weird to be in another family. I see my dad only in the weekends because he works near to Toluca. Mom owns a restaurant called La Birra where they serve Italian, Argentinan and Mexican cuisine. I  usually spend my week days there at 2pm-10pm. There I practice Spanish (I got my Spanish books, finally, about a week ago from Juan, who made an exchange in Finland 4 years ago), write letters and no, I don't sit there all days, I also go to capoeira and see my friends.  Mexicans are really weirded out that I wanna send postcards/letters to my friends. They think it's very old-fashioned and unnecessary because hello, we have FB, e-mail and Skype.

The Christmas athmosphere - There's no such thing. Yes, there is Christmas decorations and trees (real, fake, pink, snowy, singing ones..) a lot. But something is missing. No one's baking anything (Christmas cookies!) and you can hear Christmas carols only in stores and markets.

La posada - If anyone has ever seen this Christmas show by Disney,  they should know what la posada is. It's about when Maria and Josef were looking for a place to stay in Bethlehem but all the places were full. And they ended up staying over in the rather famous barn. In Mexico part of the posada guests go outside of the house with Maria and Josef statues (or something like that) and start singing the posada song, which has 5 verses. After each verse the people indoors reply them by singing. In the end they are welcomed to the house to eat - that means tamales and a drink called ponche. And of course they have to break piñatas !!! (: I've been twice to a posada: yesterday with my capoeira team and in 1st of December with Rotary club (when we changed the families).
