La parte uno de año 2013

FIN   Lo sieeeento, päivityksiä ei ole tullut vähään aikaan!! Puolustukseksi voin sanoa, että läppäri toimii tooosi hitaasti, enkä voi täällä käyttää muuta konetta, koska kuulemma perheen koneet ovat ainoastaan_työ_käyttöön. IPodikaan ei ole yhteystyökykyinen näiden kuvanlatausjuttujen kanssa.

Yritän muistella, että mitä jouluna tehtiin.. No, ei mitään erikoista. Käytiin syömässä ulkona jouluaattona ja that's it. Koko joulu ja uusi vuosi oltiin perheen "mökillä" Santa Fe:ssä, Mexico City:ssä. Jouluna täällä syödään 'pavo'a (kalkkunaa) ja 'bacalao'ta. Bacalao on kuulemma norjalainen kala, luulen että turskaa tai seitiä, ja sen kanssa on oliiveja kastiketta. Uuden vuoden aattona mentiin Valle de Bravoon, joka on keskellä metsää noin 3h päässä Mexico Cisty:stä. Siellä olikin tosi kaunista ja järven rannalla oli ihanaa olla pitkästä aikaa. Täällä kun niitä järviä, tai ylipäätään mitään jokia tai lampia ole siellä täällä. Uudenvuoden traditio täällä on, että kun kello lyö 12, niin minuutissa pitää syödä 12 viinirypälettä (jokaista kuukautta varten) ja toivoa jokasen typäleen kohdalla jotakin.

Mexico City:ssä shoppailtiin ahkerasti host-mamán kanssa (mm. Meksikon ainoassa H&M:ssä, Forever21:ssa, Pull&Bear:ssa ja Bershka:ssa) ja vietin aikaa kaikkien naapureiden kanssa. Voi että, kun lapsien kanssa on niin kivaa (ja helppoa) puhua espanjaa! Intialaiset naapurit kutsui meidät illalliselle omomm oli hyvää ruokaa, ja saatiin pukea sarit päälle :) Pakko ihmetellä, että miten kaikilla intialaisilla on semmonen stereotyyppinen aksentti? No ei mitään, hauskaltahan se kuulostaa :D

Rotarien espanjankoe piti olla 2 viikkoa sitten, mutta jostain syystä kukaan ei tiedä tällä hetkellä, milloin se oikeasti pidetään. No, ei haittaa! Lisäharjotusaika ei oo paha. Koulu alkoi tällä viikolla.. Miten kidutukselta tuntuukaan herätä taas kouluun 7:30?!! Onneksi tässä lukkarissa on 2x 8:30 päiviä! Myöskin täällä on nytten aika kylmä. Ei mikään Suomi-kylmä, mutta taloissa on ihan jäätävää!!!! Siksi herääminen onkin aika extremeä. Luistelu on täällä myös aika mielenkiintoista. Jääkentät on aika minimaalisia ja vuokrattavat luistimet laskettelumonoja muistuttavia hirvityksiä!!!!!! En yhtään ihmettele, ettei ketään osaa luistella. Tänään kuitenkin sain lainaksi ihan kunnolliset kaunot, ja voi että kun olisi kiva päästä oikealle jäälle! Vaihtarina oppii arvostamaan joitain tosi pieniä asioita kotimaassa, mitä ei ennen ole edes tullut hirveästi ajateltua. Pitää sitten Suomessa muistaa ne, kun on ikävä Meksikoa ja lämpöä.

ENG   Lo sieeeento, there haven't been any updates for ages!!! Well, my excuse is that my laptop works reeeeeally slow these days, and I can't use any family computers. There isn't any help of my iPod either because it doesn't like to download my photos into the blog..

And what did we do in Chrismas? Not anything that special. We went to dine out in the Christmas eve and that's it. We spent the whole Christmas and New years holidays in my family's cottage in Santa Fe, Mexico City. On Chistmas time Mexicans eat 'pavo' (turkey) and 'bacalao'. They say bacalao is a Norwegian fish.. And with it is served olives and sauce. In the New year's eve we went to Valle de Bravo which locates in the middle of a forest about 3h within Mexico City. It was really beautiful there and it felt so nice to be near to a lake. Unlike in Finland, in Mexico you can't find lakes or however any kinds of rivers or ponds in all the places. The New year's tradition here is that you have to eat 12 grapes in a single minute, each for all the months in a year. You have to wish something for all the months.

I went to shopping a lot with my host-mom in Mexico City (for example the only H&M in Mexico, Forever21, Pull&Bear and Bershka) and spent some quality time with our neighbours. It is soo fun (and easy) to communicate with children in Spanish! Our Indian neighbours invited us to have a dinner with them, the food was super delicious and we also tried out saris (Indian traditional dresses).

The Rotarian Spanish exam was supposed to be held like 2 weeks ago, but it was cancelled and now no one knows when we are going to do it. Well, it's fine by me, some extra practicing time doesn't cause any harm :) I went back to school after (super long) winter vacationes.. Oh, how torturing it feels like to wake up to school so early! My school starts 7:30am and twice a week 8:30am :) Nowadays it's been pretty cold here. Not like in Finland but it's super freezing inside of the houses because no one has heaters and these houses are made of stones. So, that's why waking up feels kind of extreme. Ice-skating is here pretty interesting. The ice courts are way smaller and the rentable ice-skates enormous size, they look like downhill skiing boots!! I'm not that surprised that most of the people find ice-skating difficult, because that's what it is whit these equipments. But hurray, today I got to borrow some quality ice-skates! Just dreamed of getting to skate on a real ice. As an exchange student I've become to appreciate some really small things about Finland that I haven't actually even thought before. I hope I will remember these little things when I go back to Finland and miss Mexico and its sun&warmness.

Intialaista ruokaa - palak paneer (pinaattia+juustoa) ja currya. Huomattavasti parempaa miltä näyttää :D -  Indian dish - palak paneer (spinach+cheese) and curry. Really yummy!

Kyllä Pachucasta löytyy kauniitakin paikkoja (vaikka muuten tää kaupunki ei niin esteettinen ehkä ole) :) Koko tää iso aukio on mosaiikkia. Takana olevassa jätti-jalkapallossa on museo ja pelejä - You can fins some beautiful places in Pachuca, like this. Anyhow, the other parts of Pachuca may not appear really estetic. All this place is made of mosaic. In behind in the bog soccer ball there's a museum and games

Sanon vaan, että oli aivan HIRVEETÄ, en suosittele kellekkään!!!!!!!! - I guess my host-dad thought it'd be fun to put the innocent exchange student to eat something like this. I don't even know (or wanna/care to know) if it is a frog or a mini crocodile. Just know that it was DISGUSTING and I don't recommend it to anyone!!!!!!!
