Under my sombrero: ¡Saludos desde paraíso!

FINNISH ..Eli terveisiä paratiisista! :) Kävin lomailemassa Riviera Maya:lla viikko sitten kaverin Brendan ja hänen perheensä kanssa. Oli aivan mahtava reissu!!

Lennettiin Cancúniin (kartta - Yucatan Peninsula) pari tuntia ja ajettiin hotelliin Playa del Carmeniin, naapurikaupunkiin. Missään ei ole vuoria, niin kuin Keski-Meksikossa. Ainoastaan sademetsää joka puolella. Kaikki on niin kaunista!!!!! Ilma tosi kosteata, ja kun aurinko paistaa, myoskin tosi kuumaa. Tosin kyllä melkein joka paiva satoi ja oli siksi raikkaampaa, sade johtui kai jostakin Karibian hurrikaanista. Ilmastointi oli myöskin aika extremea.
Yhtenä päivänä kävimme Tulumissa, missä on maya-intiaanien raunioita. Kaunis paikka upealla merinäkymällä. Riviera mayalla meri on kirkkaanturkoosia, koska meressä on koralliriutta, maailman toiseksi suurin (864km)!
Eläimistä siellä bongailin kaikenlaisia apinoita, iguaaneja ja muita liskoja (joka paikassa), eksoottisia lintuja ja kaloja & rapuja. Ja hyttyset. Ne ei inise korvassa niin kuin Suomessa, mutta pistokset kyllä on hieman pahempaa luokkaa.
Toisena päivänä menimme Cancúniin - shoppailemaan ja Las Vegas/ Cirque du Soleil-typpiseen showhun. Show oli Coco Bongo-nimisessa klubissa, ja esityksia oli mm. Chigaco, Michael Jackson, Phantom of the opera, Lady GaGa, Spider-man... Jne. Välillä siintyjat akrobatisoi ilmassa katsojien yläpuolella.
Menimme myös Xcaretiin, joka on siis valtava puisto, jossa on eläimiä, kaikkia maya-juttuja ja urheiluaktiviteetteja (mm. snorklausta ja haiden kanssa uintia).

Kiitos jenkkituristien, kaikki matkamuistot, vaatteet ja ruoka on tosi kalliita.

ENGLISH ..Greetings from paradise! :) I went on vacationes to Riviera Maya a week ago with my friend Brenda and her family. Super awesome trip!!

We traveled to Cancún (see Yucatan Peninsula in the map) by plane a few hours, and after rode to the hotel to Playa del Carmen (the neighbor city). You can't see mountains anywhere, unlike in the center of Mexico. Every place is surrounded by rainforest. And everything is soooo beautiful!!!! It's really humid there, and when the sun shines it's hot!! Though it was raining every day (but not all the time) during our visit. At least it was refreshing! Another refreshing thing - the air-conditioning. Why anyone would want to kill an innocent tourist by freezing indoors air??!
One day we visited Tulum, a place with ancient Mayan reunies. It was a really beautiful place with an ocean few. The water in Riviera Maya is clear blue because of the choral reef. It's the 2nd largest in the world (864km - 536 miles)!
Wild animals? Yes! At least different kinds of monkeys, lizards (a lot) and iguanas, exotic birds& fish and crabs. One day we saw a very mysterious animal which was most-likely an alien monkey. Not to forget the mosquitos.. You can't hear or see them, but you certainly find the awful itching stings!
Another day we visited Cancún - beach, shopping and a night club called Coco Bongo. There you can see shows Las Vegas/ Cirque du Soleil style. For example Chicago, Michael Jackson, Lady GaGa, Spider-man, Phantom of the opera... And once in a while they do acrobatics in the air.
And another day we visited Xcaret - an amazing and large park with all kind things: animals, Mayan things and sports (f. ex. snorkeling and swimming with sharks).
Thanks for the American tourists, all the souvenirs, food and clothes are really expensive!
Someone take me back there!! ..Some day :)
